TBI Survivor: Gary Busey

Gary Busey was not always the odd man that people see now.  Once a rising star, a 1988 motorcycle accident, in which he wasn’t wearing a helmet, destroyed his hopes of stardom based on his acting skills. (Helmet use not only decreases risk of death, but also head injury.)  In addition, a drug addiction harmed his neurological functioning and led to an appearance on the TV show Celebrity Rehab about a decade ago.  When the paparazzi speak with him now, it appears to be for the purpose of audience amusement, as because of his trauma Busey seems to have severe social disinhibition, as well as some facial disfiguration.  (I do wonder, though, if any of this disinhibition is staged, as he continues to successfully act, though primarily in bit roles.)
